Our Tall Lidded Refillable Candle is crafted in collaboration with skilled ceramicists Pottery West, each piece wheel-thrown using a flecked Staffordshire stoneware, the expertly-turned lid is designed to double as a tealight holder when upturned.

“The blue brushwork is applied before the first kiln firing, when the clay is leather-hard, using a Hakeme brush to apply the slip. The gloss-glaze is made from wood ash collected from our stove and has a delicate crackle and subtle beauty to it. It is quite a labour intensive process, but I think totally worth it.” Pottery West.

  • Refill your candle with our Signature Scents. We blend our natural fragrances in-house using only pure essential oils, giving you the aromatherapeutic benefits of natural plant extracts at home. 100% natural long-lasting scent. Free from parabens, dyes and fragrance enhancing chemicals.

  • When you light your candle for the first time, allow it to burn for 2-3 hours until the liquid wax has pooled to the edge of the vessel, to help ensure an even wax melt and prevent tunneling. Trim the wick between burns to enable a long burn time.

  • Catherine and Matt West work together under their studio name Pottery West, creating wheel-thrown pieces in stoneware that are fired both in reduction and oxidation, from their studio in Yorkshire. Drawing on expertise in design and architecture, they make subtle, meticulously detailed yet simple wheel-thrown forms that often contain facets, carefully calculated crystalline or layered glazes, and firing processes which add a sense of narrative and poetry, to create pots that quietly but confidently celebrate detail, function and the poetics of making.
